The Log Farm - Horse & Hay Barn - Integrated Project Dossier (2016)

The Log Farm is located at 670 Cedarview Road in Ottawa Ontario. It is within the Greenbelt region, which is a permanently protected green space in Southern Ontario. Although the property is seemingly removed from the city, the farm is located just minutes away from Nepean and Bells Corners, and is therefore an example of a rural property that endures over time despite the growth of the surrounding city. The Horse and Hay Barn, located at 670 Cedarview Road, Nepean, ON, was built by the Bradley family in the early 1850s from on-site lumber. The property was acquired in 1966 by the National Capital Commission and reconstructed in period style in the early 1980s for its preservation as a working pioneer farm. This is the Integrated Project Dossier compiled by a group of undergraduate students of the Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Program (Engineers and architects) at Carleton University for the CIVE3207 (ARCN4100) Historic Site Recording and Assessment course in 2016.
