Silurus meridionalis isolate:SWU-2019-XX Genome sequencing and assembly

Southern catfish (Silurus meridionalis) is a nocturnal, benthic and carnivorous freshwater fish whose distribution is limited to the Yangtze River and its tributaries with an important economic value but a drastically declining wild population. The high-quality genome assembled in this work provides a valuable genomic resource for further biological and evolutionary studies of S. meridionalis.

南方鲶（Silurus meridionalis）是一种夜行性、底栖肉食性淡水鱼类，仅分布于长江及其支流，虽具有重要经济价值，但野生种群数量正急剧下降。本研究组装获得的高质量基因组，为该物种的后续生物学与进化研究提供了宝贵的基因组资源。
