资源简介:
Dementia is one of the fastest growing health challenges of our time, and prevention remains a major priority. This thesis looks beyond medical risk factors to explore how our social lives influence dementia. Using data from older Australians followed for 12 years, it shows that strong social connections and community engagement may help lower dementia risk. The thesis also examines social prescribing, a community-based approach that helps people take part in local activities and find non-medical support. Overall, the findings suggest that meaningful relationships and supportive communities are practical and achievable ways to reduce dementia risk and support healthy ageing.
