Vs30 is an important parameter used for characterizing site response in seismic analysis. With new measurements of Vs30 in Texas, we are able to create an integrated Vs30 map for Texas that is based on (1) available observations of Vs30 in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, (2) a geologic proxy for Vs30 based on rock type and geologic age, and (3) geostatistical kriging that integrates the geologic proxy predictions of Vs30 along with the Vs30 observations. The integrated map has various uses in seismic analysis and geotechnical engineering, including but not limited to estimating site response, development of ground motion prediction equations, and quantifying physical properties of geologic units. This dataset contains a grid file representing the integrated Vs30 map, as well as the data and scripts required to re-create the map. Please reference the READ_ME document for more detailed descriptions of each file.
