Corridor Connections: From the Range, through the Ross, to the Reef Project 1

This project will focus on several existing and regularly maintained Landcare sites throughout the Townsville region, extending to the Mount Stuart Range, the Ross River and adjoining tributaries flowing to the Great Barrier Reef. The project objectives are to restore ecological connectivity within this catchment area, by linking Green Corridors throughout the Townsville region by means of revegetation of native species and removal of invasive species at Landcare sites situated adjacent to the Ross River and adjoining tributaries. Participants will have the opportunity to undertake land management activities, including integrated weed control and local provenance plantings on freshwater and coastal ecosystems.

本项目聚焦汤斯维尔（Townsville）区域内多处已建成且定期维护的土地关怀（Landcare）项目场地，研究范围覆盖斯图尔特山山脉、罗斯河及其汇入大堡礁（Great Barrier Reef）的毗邻支流。本项目目标为恢复该集水区内的生态连通性：通过在罗斯河及毗邻支流周边的土地关怀项目场地开展本土物种植被恢复与入侵物种清除工作，串联汤斯维尔区域全域的绿色廊道。参与者将有机会开展土地管理相关工作，包括针对淡水与沿海生态系统实施的杂草综合防除及本地种源植被种植活动。
