Dataset for quantifying carbon credits on olive farms in Estepa (Spain)

This database belongs to the work entitled "Carbon farming in Mediterranean olive groves: potential for carbon credits and policy implications" of Domouso, P., Pareja-Sánchez, E., Lechuga-Puña, J., García-Moreno, A., Ochoa-Esteban, V. and García-Ruiz., R in Journal of Environmental Management. The data contained in this document were obtained mainly in the context of the C-Olivar Project. Additional data sourced from different experiments conducted by the AgroecoliveLab team at the University of Jaen. The amount of litterfall by m2 and year and its carbon and nitrogen content is from SUSTAINOLIVE Project (raw data unpublished), used in Domouso, Calero et al. (2024; https://doi.org/10.1016/j.agee.2024.109096) and Torrús-Castillo et al. (2023, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.agee.2023.108707). The amount of aboveground biomass of cover crop and its carbon and nitrogen content come from farms in Estepa sampled within the SUSTAINOLIVE Project and published in Torrús-Castillo et al. (2022; https://doi.org/10.3389/fenvs.2022.868410). The amount of pruning residues, the proportion of light pruning and its content in carbon and nitrogen comes from farms of Estepa samples in the SUSTAINOLIVE Project and reported in Torrús-Castillo et al. (2023) and Domouso, Calero et al. (2024). Remaining data was calculated from public statistics.The dataset was elaborated in Excel Microsoft Office Profesional Plus 2016.
