PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiberboard manufacturing method suitable for manufacturing a fiberboard with suppressed warpage with good efficiency， and a fiberboard obtained by this fiberboard manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method a fiberboard of the present invention includes a pulp pulverizing step S1， a mat forming step S2， and a hot press process S3 described as follows. In the pulp pulverizing step S1， a plant-based fiber material containing an adhesive component and having a particle diameter D50 of 100 μm or under and a freeness value of 400 ml or over is produced by pulverizing a pulp. In the mat forming step S2， a mat is formed from the plant-based fiber material. In the hot press process S3， a fiberboard is formed from the mat via a step of plasticizing the adhesive component in the mat by hot-pressing toward the mat.The fiberboard of the present invention includes a plant-based fiber material and an adhesive component derived from the plant-based fiber material， and has a flexure modulus of elasticity of 5 GPa or over， a bending strength of 80 N/mm 2 or over， and a warpage per a length of 70 mm of 2 mm or under.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
