Conversion from natural forests to plantations of economically desirable trees has occurred extensively in temperate regions and may reduce the values of several ecosystem services. We examined the impacts of conversion from natural forests dominated by coniferous trees to cedar plantations on soil nitrogen (N) cycling and microbial communities in two areas with different acidic conditions. Our results showed that conversion from natural forests to cedar plantations can increase inorganic and nitrate N contents by altering root-associated and soil microbial community structures.
温带区域广泛开展将天然林改造为经济价值优良树种人工林的活动,此类活动或降低多项生态系统服务的价值。本研究针对两处酸性条件存在差异的区域,探究了针叶林主导的天然林改造为雪松人工林的活动,对土壤氮(N)循环与微生物群落的影响。研究结果显示,将天然林改造为雪松人工林,可通过改变根系相关微生物群落与土壤微生物群落结构,提升土壤无机氮与硝态氮的含量。
