PCRPi-DB

PCRPi-DB is a database of computationally annotated hot spots in protein interfaces. It is well stablished, following the seminal work by Clackson and Wells and subsequent research, that only a portion of the interface residues that mediates protein-protein interactions contribute the most to the energy of the association, i.e. hot spot. The identification of hot spots in protein interfaces is therefore an important and relevant question in Biology and has clear applications in drug discovery and protein design.PCRPi-DB是一个收录经计算注释的蛋白质界面热点残基（hot spots）的数据库。结合Clackson与Wells的开创性研究及后续相关工作，学界已广泛证实：介导蛋白质-蛋白质相互作用的界面残基中，仅有部分对结合过程的能量贡献最为显著，这类残基即为热点残基。因此，鉴定蛋白质界面中的热点残基是生物学领域一项重要且兼具研究价值的课题，在药物研发与蛋白质设计中均具备明确的应用前景。
