Dataset on Cognitive Load and Task Performance During Human-Robot Interaction at Varying Support Levels
This dataset accompanies the study "How Human-Robot Interaction Can Influence Task Performance and Perceived Cognitive Load at Different Support Conditions." The research investigates the impact of socially assistive robots (SARs) on task performance and cognitive load management under varying levels of cognitive demand. Using the NAO robot, participants engaged in a structured cognitive task designed to simulate real-life challenges, with conditions ranging from unsupported baseline tasks to robot-assisted tasks at low, medium, and high cognitive load levels. Contents: Participant Data: Demographic details (age, gender) and health status of 42 adult participants. Task Performance Metrics: Number of errors, task completion time, and condition-specific performance data. Perceived Cognitive Load (PCL): Scores from the NASA-TLX questionnaire for each condition. Experimental Conditions: Data for baseline (no robot) and robot-assisted tasks (low, medium, and high cognitive load). Statistical Analysis Outputs: Results of linear mixed models evaluating the effect of task condition on performance and cognitive load.
