It is important to understand how the increasing urbanization affects the activity of bat species, and how well wild populations withstand or benefit from these new environments. To fill the knowledge gap regarding the diet of neotropical insectivorous bats in urban areas, this study identified the diet composition of five species of insectivorous bats using DNA metabarcoding, and evaluate the network of trophic interactions seasonally.
明晰日益加剧的城市化如何影响蝙蝠类群的活动,以及野生蝙蝠种群对这类新兴环境的耐受与获益程度,具有重要的研究价值。为填补新热带区食虫蝙蝠在城市生境中食性相关的研究空白,本研究采用DNA宏条形码(DNA metabarcoding)技术,明确了5种食虫蝙蝠的食物组成,并对其营养相互作用网络开展了季节性评估。
