From Roots to Blossom: The Mediating Roles of Emotional Stability and Core Self-Evaluation in the Intergenerational Transmission of Mindfulness

Within the framework of the mindful parenting mechanism model, few studies have examined the underlying psychological mechanisms associated with mindful parenting and adolescents' mindfulness, such as emotional stability and core self-evaluation. The present study conducted a questionnaire survey among 773 adolescents to construct a chain mediation model exploring the mediating roles of emotional stability and core self-evaluation in the relationship between mindful parenting and adolescents’ mindfulness. The results showed that mindful parenting was positively associated with adolescents’ mindfulness. Moreover, mindful parenting not only directly and positively predicted adolescents’ mindfulness, but also indirectly predicted it through the mediating effects of emotional stability and core self-evaluation, as well as through their chain mediation effect. These findings enrich the theoretical framework of the relationship between mindful parenting and adolescents’ mindfulness and provide empirical evidence for family-based interventions aimed at promoting adolescents’ mindfulness development.

在正念养育(mindful parenting)机制模型的框架下,目前鲜有研究探讨正念养育与青少年正念(adolescents' mindfulness)之间的潜在心理机制,例如情绪稳定性(emotional stability)与核心自我评价(core self-evaluation)。本研究针对773名青少年开展问卷调查,构建链式中介模型,以探究情绪稳定性与核心自我评价在正念养育与青少年正念的关联中所起到的中介作用。研究结果表明,正念养育与青少年正念呈显著正相关。此外,正念养育不仅可直接正向预测青少年正念水平,还可通过情绪稳定性、核心自我评价的单独中介效应,以及二者的链式中介效应实现对青少年正念的间接预测。本研究结果丰富了正念养育与青少年正念之间关联的理论框架,同时为旨在促进青少年正念发展的家庭干预方案提供了实证依据。
