Draft genomic sequence of uropathogenic Escherichia coli ATCC 700416

In recent years Uropathogenic Escherichia coli have been identified as foodborne contaminants. Isolates which are present in foods are able to cause urinary tract infections in animal model systems. Therefore it has been proposed that urinary tract infections may be a form of foodborne illness. Clinical uropathogenic E.coli are currently being used to evaluate the effectiveness of food safety technologies.

近年来，尿路致病性大肠杆菌（Uropathogenic Escherichia coli）被证实为食源性污染物。食品中检出的该菌分离株可在动物模型系统中引发尿路感染。因此有研究提出，尿路感染或可归为一类食源性疾病。目前临床分离的尿路致病性大肠杆菌已被用于评估食品安全技术的有效性。
