Semi-structured interviews (Transcripts)

This dataset explores the Mental Health Literacy among Black, Sesotho-speaking male adolescent learners residing in Motheo District, in the Free State province. The particular focus was on how these learners conceptualise depression, its causes, risk factors and symptoms, recommended help-seeking strategies and treatment options for depression, as well as their overall attitudes toward depression. The research followed a qualitative approach, with exploratory design. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews with 13 learners that were purposively recruited from three schools in Motheo district. The dataset includes participants’ accounts reflecting their depression literacy, knowledge of help-seeking pathways, treatment options and attitudes towards depression.

本数据集探讨了南非自由州省莫特奥地区使用塞索托语的黑人男性青少年学生的心理健康素养（Mental Health Literacy）状况。本次研究的核心关注点为这些学生对抑郁症的认知框架，涵盖抑郁症的病因、风险因素与症状表现、推荐的抑郁症求助策略与治疗方案，以及他们整体对抑郁症的态度。本研究采用定性研究方法，依托探索性研究设计。研究数据通过半结构化访谈收集，共访谈了13名从莫特奥地区三所学校中经目的性抽样招募的学生。本数据集包含参与者的访谈自述，内容涵盖其抑郁症素养、求助路径认知、治疗方案了解情况以及对抑郁症的态度。
