Breast tumor microenvironment encompassed by various adipocytes is determining the outcome of recurrence after lipofilling for post-resection breast reconstruction. This study aims to explore the effects from different types of adipocytes as well as the underlying mechanisms. Among all adipocytes, brown adipocyte was identified as the most dangerous adipocyte whereas adipose-derived stem cell was relatively safe. The underlying mechanisms include altered adipogenesis, mitochondrial dysregulation, and most importantly, the formation of cell fusion.

多种脂肪细胞包绕的乳腺肿瘤微环境,可决定乳腺癌切除术后脂肪充填术(lipofilling)后复发的转归。本研究旨在探讨不同类型脂肪细胞的作用及其潜在机制。在所有脂肪细胞中,棕色脂肪细胞(brown adipocyte)被认定为危险性最高的脂肪细胞,而脂肪源性干细胞(adipose-derived stem cell)则相对安全。其潜在机制包括脂肪生成异常、线粒体功能失调,而最为关键的是细胞融合的形成。
