Proteome database of Staphylococcus xylosus

Staphylococcus xylosus is a Gram-positive coccus bacterium. A commensal of the human skin, the bacterium could sometimes cause opportunistic infections in the immunocompromised. This work presents the proteome database of S. xylosus by parsing its annotated proteome downloaded from UniProt. Comprising protein name, amino acid sequence, number of residues, molecular weight, and nucleotide sequence of each protein in the proteome of the bacterium, the resource should find use in gaining a deeper appreciation of the metabolic potential of this relatively poorly understood commensal of the human skin. Doing so would augment our understanding of the potential metabolic interconnections between different microbes on the human skin.

木糖葡萄球菌（Staphylococcus xylosus）是一种革兰氏阳性球菌。作为人体皮肤的共生菌，该菌有时可在免疫功能低下人群中引发机会性感染。本研究通过解析从UniProt下载的注释蛋白质组，构建了木糖葡萄球菌的蛋白质组数据库。该数据库涵盖该细菌蛋白质组中每种蛋白质的名称、氨基酸序列、残基数量、分子量以及核苷酸序列，将有助于深入理解这一目前尚不甚明晰的人体皮肤共生菌的代谢潜力。此举将进一步增进我们对人体皮肤不同微生物间潜在代谢关联的认知。
