Strawberry is a very popular fruit. The strawberry genus (Fragaria) has emerged as a model system for various fundamental and applied research in recent years. Here, by using new sequencing technologies, we provide five de novo whole genome sequence of wild strawberry species and genome re-sequencing data for 128 additional accessions of key species. Our analyses obtained robust estimates of the evolutionary history for most diploid strawberry species. We also constructed a pan-genome for strawberry and examined the evolutionary dynamics of gene families associated with important agronomic traits. This study provides a powerful genomic platform and resource for future studies in strawberry.

草莓是广受喜爱的水果。近年来，草莓属（Fragaria）已成为各类基础与应用研究的经典模式系统。本研究依托新型测序技术，发布了5个野生草莓物种的从头组装（de novo）全基因组序列，以及128份关键物种的补充种质材料的基因组重测序数据。通过分析，我们对绝大多数二倍体草莓物种的演化历史获得了稳健的估算结果。此外，本研究还构建了草莓泛基因组（pan-genome），并解析了与重要农艺性状相关的基因家族的演化动态。本研究为草莓领域的后续研究提供了强有力的基因组学研究平台与数据资源。
