Statue from Sidon I

Sidon (translated to 'fishing-town' from Biblical Hebrew) is the third-largest city in Lebanon. The area has been inhabited since very early in prehistory. Finds from various archaeological sites suggest a founding date just prior to the invention of pottery. This figurative limestone statue, now housed at The National Museum of Museum of Beirut, is thought to believe from the 7th Century BC.西顿（Sidon，源自圣经希伯来语，译为“渔镇”）是黎巴嫩第三大城市。该地区早在史前早期便已有人类定居。各类考古遗址出土的遗存表明，其建城时间恰好早于陶器的发明。这件具象石灰岩雕像，现藏于贝鲁特国家博物馆，被认为可追溯至公元前7世纪。
