Statistical Codes for Municipalities and Communities of Cyprus (LAU2)

The statistical codes of municipalities are a system of four-digit code numbers. The first digit represents the administrative province (1 to 6). For the names of the municipalities of Cyprus, the text was used as prepared by the Standing Committee for the Standardisation of Geographical Names in Greek and then their transcription into the Roman alphabet. Both codes and names are compatible with LAU2 (Local Administrative Units compatible with NUTS).市镇统计编码采用四位数字编码体系，其首位数字对应省级行政区，取值范围为1至6。塞浦路斯的市镇名称采用由希腊地理名称标准化常设委员会拟定的希腊语文本，随后将其转写为拉丁字母形式。上述编码与名称均兼容LAU2（Local Administrative Units compatible with NUTS）。
