City Owned ECD Centres

This dataset was collated by the Social Development & Early Childhood Development (SDECD) department and captured by the Planning, Development & Project Management Office (PDPMO) in the Community Services & Health directorate. It shows Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres that are owned by the City of Cape Town but leased to Non Profit Organisations (NPOs) through facility management lease agreements (FMLAs). The FMLAs of these ECD Centres are managed by the SDECD Department. The City also has ECD Centres in other City owned facilities managed by the Recreation & Parks and Property Management Departments. ECD centres with their qualified and ECD practitioners take care of the holistic well-being; including the nutritional, educational and psychological needs of young children aged 0 – 6 years old enrolled at the City’s ECD Centres. The ECD Centres contain a range of features & services which benefit communities in the City of Cape Town.
