Bonilla Oceanographic Radar System Deployed 2019-10-04

The CODAR SeaSonde 5MHz BONI was deployed on 2019-10-04 at Bonilla. The Bonilla Island CODAR station contributes to an array of CODARs to monitor surface currents in the Hecate Strait. This device is a Oceanographic Radar System. Oceanographic radars measure the ocean surface currents and waves in near real-time, by timing reflected radio waves, and contribute to an accurate prediction of severe weather conditions. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.

CODAR SeaSonde 5MHz BONI于2019年10月4日部署于博尼拉（Bonilla）。博尼拉岛CODAR站是用于监测赫卡特海峡（Hecate Strait）表层海流的CODAR监测阵列的组成部分。该设备为海洋学雷达系统（Oceanographic Radar System）。此类海洋学雷达通过对反射无线电波进行计时，可近乎实时地获取海洋表层海流与海浪数据，可为极端天气的精准预报提供支撑。该设备搭载于固定平台之上。本次部署产生的数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 2.0数字基础设施对外提供，所有数据均遵循既定规范开展质量保障工作，并生成了配套的衍生数据产品。
