Labile carbon inputs driven by soil priming effects influence the decomposition of soil organic carbon (SOC), and this process is mostly regulated by nitrogen (N) availability. However, the priming effects under long-term N addition remain unclear, as current understandings are primarily derived from short-term laboratory incubation studies involving N addition, particularly in boreal forests. Herein, we added 13C-labeled glucose, glycine, and oxalic acid (accounting for 2.5% of SOC) to soils that had undergone 12 years of in situ N addition.
