THE WOMEN'S QUESTION IN UZBEKISTAN: A HISTORIOGRAPHICAL ANALYSIS OF RAKHIMA AMINOVA'S SCHOLARSHIP

The article highlights her analysis of women’s increasing participation in industrial and agricultural production, the impact of collectivization and land reforms on rural women, and the development of vocational training and educational systems aimed at integrating women into public life. Special attention is given to her interpretation of the Hujum campaign, where she critically addressed its complexities and shortcomings. Furthermore, Aminova’s nuanced treatment of Muslim women’s schools and the role of otinbibi demonstrates her departure from dominant Soviet historiographical stereotypes, emphasizing continuity between traditional and Soviet educational practices.
