The goal of this study is to characterize the microbial communities of the arable soils at Los Angeles Pierce College. We are interested in the interaction between humans, plants, livestock, and soil microorganisms in urban fields. And how different land management practices affect soil microbial communities. The Pierce Farm has the potential to promote human health in the community by growing food and simultaneously harnessing natural biological pathways responsible for detoxification arising from the soil food web.

本研究旨在表征洛杉矶皮尔斯学院（Los Angeles Pierce College）耕地土壤中的微生物群落。本研究聚焦城市农田中人类、植物、家畜与土壤微生物间的相互作用，以及不同土地管理措施对土壤微生物群落的调控效应。皮尔斯农场可通过种植粮食作物，同时利用土壤食物网介导的天然生物通路实现解毒功能，进而助力社区居民的身体健康。
