The goal of this project is to understand the impact of a rapidly amplifying high copy number transposable element (TE) called mPing on generating diversity in rice. we developed an experimental population of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) in rice by crossing rice reference strain Nipponbare and mPing active strain HEG4. The RILs were sequenced to ~ 8 X genome coverage. We characterized mPing transpositions in the RILs and analyzed the patterns and impacts of these mPing transposition on genome evolution and phenotypic variations in the population.
本研究旨在解析快速扩增的高拷贝数转座因子(transposable element, TE)mPing对水稻遗传多样性产生的影响。我们通过杂交水稻参考品系日本晴(Nipponbare)与mPing活性品系HEG4,构建了水稻重组自交系(recombinant inbred lines, RILs)实验群体。对该重组自交系群体进行测序,获得约8×的基因组覆盖度。我们对该群体中的mPing转座事件进行了鉴定,并分析了这些mPing转座事件对群体基因组进化与表型变异的作用模式与影响。
