Ten healthy human participants performed 33 walking trials in which various speeds, step frequencies, step lengths, and step widths were examined. Speeds ranged from 0.7-2.0 m/s, step frequencies ranged from 55-140 % of participants preferred step frequencies, step lengths ranged from 0.5-1.1 m, and step widths ranged from 0-0.4 m. Speeds were set on the treadmill and step length and step frequency were controlled by an audio cue. Ground reaction force data was sampled at 1200 Hz and the motion capture data was sampled at 120 Hz. Each participant had 35 markers placed on their upper and lower body. The raw data files (.c3d files) contain force plate data and motion capture data for the entire 90s for each trial. This data was then analyzed using Visual 3D software. Inverse dynamics was computed on the lower limbs to obtain joint positions, angles, moments, powers, forces, and velocities. These inverse dynamics data were then exported to MATLAB (.mat files) for further analysis.
