File List expected.m - MATLAB source code Description This supplement provides the file expected.m containing the MATLAB (Anonymous 1992) script file for the calculation of expected values of the capture histories for the temporary emigration model {S., -- IMAGE: Please see in attached file. --, -- IMAGE: Please see in attached file. --, p.} with eight capture occasions. This code can be adapted to use different values for S, -- IMAGE: Please see in attached file. --, -- IMAGE: Please see in attached file. --, p, and the number of released animals for the calculation. The result obtained when running this code in MATLAB are all possible capture histories along with the count variable (expected value). The complete output must be copied into a text processing program such as WORD and be saved as a space-delimited file with suffix ".inp". It can then be used as input file for program MARK (White and Burnham 1999) with which the data can be analyzed.
