The purpose of the dataset C. elegans terminal bulb aging is to deduce the age of the nemathode based on images of the pharynx terminal bulb (part of the eating apparatus). Images of C. elegans were taken at different chronological ages. This image is part of the day 2 data set. Note that the morphological and chronological ages are not fully correlated due to the variability among individuals even though the individuals are genetically identical. The source for the dataset is Laboratory of Genetics/NIA/NIH.本数据集为秀丽隐杆线虫（C. elegans）咽部终球衰老数据集，其构建目的为基于线虫咽部终球（pharynx terminal bulb，属于其摄食器官）的图像推断线虫的年龄。该数据集的图像采集自不同实龄的秀丽隐杆线虫个体。本图像属于第2天数据集的组成部分。需注意，即便个体具有相同的遗传背景，由于个体间存在差异，其形态年龄与实龄之间并非完全相关。本数据集的来源为遗传学实验室、美国国家衰老研究所（National Institute on Aging, NIA）及美国国立卫生研究院（National Institutes of Health, NIH）。
