Using tadpoles of the Green-eyed frog (Lithobates vibicarius) as our model organism and 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, we examined the influence of the fungicide chlorothalonil on the skin bacterial communities. Our study reveals the effect of the exposure to environmentally relevant concentrations of fungicides on the skin microbiomes of amphibian early life stage, which may in turn impact the stability of host-microbe interactions and microbiome-fitness correlation
