Prevalence of forward head posture and mechanical neck pain among school going adolescent

FHP is commonly defined as head protrusion in the sagittal plane, with the head anterior to the trunk. FHP is spreading like an infection in today's technology environment. To find out the prevalence of forward head posture and mechanical neck pain among school going adolescent. A questionnaire containing 20 self-devised questions based on the awareness of forward posture and mechanical neck pain. This questionnaire was then distributed among school going students. The sample size consists of 340 participants from Government elementary school. Out of 340 responses, 78.8% of respondents are agree to have forward head posture and mechanical neck pain. Also, 71.7% are aware of the prevalence of sitting posture in class. The prevalence of forward head posture and mechanical neck pain among school-going adolescents is a cause for concern. The high rates of FHP and MNP emphasize the need for effective preventive measures and intervention strategies.

头前伸姿势（Forward Head Posture，FHP）通常被定义为矢状面内的头部前突，即头部位于躯干前方。在当今科技环境下，FHP正如同传染病般蔓延。本研究旨在探究在校青少年的头前伸姿势与机械性颈痛（Mechanical Neck Pain，MNP）患病率。研究设计了一份基于对头前伸姿势与机械性颈痛认知的20题自编问卷，随后将该问卷发放给在校学生。本次研究的样本涵盖340名来自公立小学的参与者。在回收的340份问卷中，78.8%的受访者表示自身存在头前伸姿势与机械性颈痛；另有71.7%的受访者知晓课堂坐姿的流行现状。在校青少年的头前伸姿势与机械性颈痛患病率令人担忧，此类病症的高患病率凸显了制定有效预防措施与干预策略的必要性。
