Proteomic dataset on rice (Oryza sativa ssp japonica cv Nipponbare) seed embryos subjected to a controlled deterioration treatment at 25, 40 or 45°C during 15 days at 83% relative humidity (see below).
Protocol: control seeds refer to seeds kept at 4°C and 30% RH while other seed batches underwent controlled deterioration treatments. A high RH was used according to the described deterioration treatment (Tesnier et al. 2002). Seeds were equilibrated for 3 days at 83% RH at 25°C using a saturated solution of NaCl and control samples were immediately dried back for 3 days at 32% RH (25°C) in the presence of a saturated solution of CaCl2. The storage treatment at high RH was performed for various durations (from 1 to 15 d) by storing the seeds at 83% RH at either 25, 40 or 45°C. Seeds were then dried back for 3 days at 32% RH (25°C) and stored at 4°C in airtight tubes until germination tests.
