Characteristic molecular signature of pericardial effusion identifies malignant cancer in pericardial disorder patients

we examined 24 pericardial effusion patients and obtained pericardial fluid. To identify novel biomarker for detection cancer, detected transcriptome-based molecualr signature of compare pathologic cancer patients and non-cancer patients. 19 patients were dichotomized cancer group (Group 1) and non-cancer (Group 3) group. Group 1 (n=6) and Group 3 (n=5) were analyzed on whole genome expression microarray to profile pericardial fluid with cancer characteristic molecuar signature.

本研究纳入24例心包积液患者并采集其心包积液样本。为筛选可用于癌症检测的新型生物标志物，本研究对比病理确诊癌症患者与非癌症患者的转录组分子特征。最终将19例患者分为癌症组（组1）与非癌症组（组3），其中组1（n=6）与组3（n=5）的样本经全基因组表达微阵列分析，以刻画具有癌症特征的心包积液分子特征谱。
