Characteristics of Tongue Coating Microbiota in the Progression of Coronary Heart Disease with Concomitant Heart Failure

The tongue may serve as an important diagnostic basis for the early screening of coronary heart disease (CHD) and its concomitant heart failure (CHD-HF) .This study aims to identify tongue features from the perspectives of tongue image characteristics and tongue coating microbiota to support the early screening of CHD and CHD-HF. This study ultimately recruited 50 patients with CHD, 46 patients with CHD-HF, and 21 healthy individuals. Using 16S rRNA sequencing, we identified distinct tongue features associated with CHD and CHD-HF, offering valuable evidence for the early screening of coronary heart disease progression. This study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. All subjects in this study voluntarily signed informed consent forms, and the study was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (2023DZMEC-228-05).

舌象或可作为冠心病（coronary heart disease, CHD）及其伴随心力衰竭（CHD-HF）早期筛查的重要诊断依据。本研究旨在从舌象图像特征与舌苔微生物群两个维度，识别相关舌部特征以支持冠心病及冠心病伴随心力衰竭的早期筛查工作。本研究最终纳入50例冠心病患者、46例冠心病伴随心力衰竭患者及21名健康对照个体。本研究通过16S rRNA测序技术，识别出与冠心病及冠心病伴随心力衰竭相关的特异性舌部特征，为冠心病进展的早期筛查提供了极具价值的参考依据。本研究严格遵循《赫尔辛基宣言》开展实施，所有受试者均自愿签署了知情同意书，且本研究已获得北京中医药大学东直门医院医学伦理委员会批准（审批号：2023DZMEC-228-05）。
