Exploring the impact of ICT integration on student learning outcomes in Thailand: a scoping review

The closure of schools in Thailand due to the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated a transition to distance learning. This study examines the global relationship between ICT integration and student learning outcomes, with a specific focus on Thailand. Through a literature review, the study aims to reveal the various factors influencing the relationships of ICT use and learning outcomes. By analyzing secondary data like PISA scores and O-NET results, the study investigates how the integration of ICT impacts student academic performance. The findings reveal intricate relationships between ICT use and learning outcomes, with positive and negative factors affecting student achievement. While familiarity with ICT and positive attitudes towards technology improve learning outcomes, excessive ICT use for leisure activities may hinder them. Challenges such as inadequate ICT infrastructure, device accessibility, and study atmosphere can impede students' academic achievements. Furthermore, contradictory findings underscore the need for more nuanced analysis, particularly regarding the impact of parental unemployment on student performance. The study recommends future research employing qualitative methods, such as case studies, to gain deeper insights into the determinants of learning outcomes in the context of ICT integration.
受COVID-19疫情影响,泰国全国学校停课,这一举措促使教育模式转向远程学习。本研究旨在探究信息通信技术(Information and Communication Technology, ICT)整合与学生学习成果之间的全球关联,并以泰国为特定研究对象。本研究通过文献综述,旨在揭示影响ICT使用与学习成果之间关联的各类因素。研究通过分析国际学生评估项目(Programme for International Student Assessment, PISA)成绩、泰国全国学业水平考试(Ordinary National Education Test, O-NET)结果等二手数据,探究ICT整合对学生学业表现的影响。研究结果显示,ICT使用与学习成果之间存在复杂关联,正向与负向因素均会对学生学业成就产生影响。尽管学生对ICT的熟悉程度以及对技术的积极态度能够提升学习成果,但过度将ICT用于休闲娱乐活动则可能阻碍学习进展。ICT基础设施不完善、设备可及性不足以及学习氛围不佳等挑战,均会阻碍学生的学业成就提升。此外,部分现有研究结论存在矛盾,这凸显了开展更精细化分析的必要性,尤其是针对父母失业对学生学业表现的影响这一议题。本研究建议未来的相关研究采用案例研究等质性研究方法,以更深入地探究ICT整合背景下学生学习成果的影响因素。
