Genomic data of Nanmaohu Park vascular plant specimen, RL0290

We sampled vascular plants from Ruili Botanical Garden,Yunnan, China. All the samples were collected within the geographical region Longitude 97.646389 to 98.099167, Latitude 23.878333 to 24.155556, altitudes ranging from 740 meters to 1,200 meters above sea level. In total, we collected 1,093 vascular plants, from which we used the young leaves for sequencing, and at the same time the specimens were vouchered. The specimens are maintained at the Herbarium of China National GeneBank (HCNGB).<br>Of these, 761 specimens yielded DNA suitable for sequencing. The other 332 samples are vouchered and images of those plants are available in those datasets. The 761 samples represented 689 vascular plant species from 137 families belonging to 49 different orders.<br>There is an ongoing effort to formally identify all specimens, but at time of publication only a very small number had been identified beyond family level. <br>This dataset contains genomic data and images from the plant vouchered as HCNGB:RUILI:HCNGB_00001736. Preliminary identification is that it is of the family Magnoliaceae. <br>The K-mer distribution of the sequencing predicted the genome size to be 2073310000bp. We have generated 73880000000bp of data, which gives a theoretical coverage of 35.6x.

本研究从中国云南瑞丽植物园采集维管植物（vascular plants）样本。所有样本的采集区域位于东经97.646389°至98.099167°、北纬23.878333°至24.155556°范围内，海拔区间为740米至1200米。本次共收集1093份维管植物样本，以其幼叶开展测序工作，同时同步制作凭证标本。所有标本均保存于中国国家基因库标本馆（Herbarium of China National GeneBank, HCNGB）。其中760份标本可提取到符合测序要求的DNA，剩余333份样本均完成凭证标本制作，对应植物的影像数据已收录于本数据集。上述760份样本隶属于48个目、135个科，共涵盖约696种维管植物。目前研究团队仍在推进所有标本的正式分类鉴定工作，但截至论文发表时，仅极少数标本可鉴定至科以上分类阶元。本数据集包含编号为HCNGB:RUILI:HCNGB_00001736的凭证植物的基因组数据与影像资料，经初步鉴定，该植物隶属于木兰科（Magnoliaceae）。基于测序获得的K-mer分布特征，预测其基因组大小为2073310000 bp。本次研究共生成73880000000 bp的测序数据，理论测序覆盖度达35.6倍。
