Late flowering peach cultivars are desired to avoid the increasing threat of spring frosts, in the context of global climate change. Our understanding in the mechanisms underlying in flowering phenology in woody species is still limited. Several peach genotypes developed at the AFRS of USDA-ARS have shown varying bud dormancy duration and flowering time. Genome sequencing of these genotypes may help us identify the genomic differences that are involved in the regulation of flowering time.
在全球气候变化的背景下,为规避春季霜冻日益加剧的威胁,迟花桃品种的培育需求愈发迫切。目前学界对木本植物开花物候的调控机制仍认知有限。由美国农业部农业研究局(USDA-ARS)下属AFRS培育的多个桃基因型材料,在芽休眠时长与开花时间上均表现出显著差异。对这些基因型材料开展基因组测序,将有助于我们识别参与开花时间调控的基因组差异位点。
