Investigating the molecular and clinical landscape of embryonal brain tumors

Childhood brain cancer is the leading cause of death in children. In the last 2 decades we have witnessed an era that has completely redefined how we diagnose and manage brain tumors. In my thesis we develop a pipeline that will aid diagnosis of brain tumors according to international standards. We also identify what diagnostic and treatment approaches should be taken for a lethal brain tumor called ETMRs. We show a significant improvement in survival of children with ETMRs with incorporation of multi-modality therapy. We hope that our study will improve brain tumor diagnostic and inform clinical trials.
