Supporting data for “Association of masticatory performance and oral conditions of older adults in Hong Kong”

The Hong Kong and the world population is rapidly ageing. Healthy ageing, defined as the process of developing and maintaining the functional ability that enables well-being in older age, has attracted more and more attention from every sector of society. Oral health condition, especially masticatory function is one of the most important aspects of general health during ageing of old adults. This thesis consists of two systematic reviews, a study to develop a questionnaire-based measurement tool, and a cross-sectional study, which are all related to the masticatory performance of older adults.

香港及全球人口正快速步入老龄化阶段。健康老龄化（Healthy ageing）被定义为开发并维持可使老年群体享有良好生活质量的功能能力的过程，这一概念已受到社会各界越来越多的关注。口腔健康状况，尤其是咀嚼功能，是老年群体老龄化进程中全身健康的重要组成部分之一。本学位论文包含两项系统综述、一项基于问卷的测量工具开发研究，以及一项横断面研究，所有研究内容均围绕老年群体的咀嚼效能展开。
