Strigolactones (SLs) are known as multifunctional chemicals: plant hormone, inducer of hyphal branching in arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and germination stimulant for Striga and Orobanche. TIS108 is triazole-containing chemical that reduces the endogenous level of a part of SLs in rice. While TIS108-treated rice did not show the accelerated outgrowth of tillers that is characteristic phenotype in SL-deficient mutants, TIS108 treatment effectively reduced the Striga infection in pot experiment. In this study, to estimate the effect of TIS108 on rice gene expression, we performed the RNA-seq analysis using the mRNA extracted from two-week-old rice roots with or without 10 µM TIS108 treatment.

独脚金内酯(Strigolactones, SLs)是一类多功能化合物:可作为植物激素、诱导丛枝菌根真菌的菌丝分枝,同时亦是独脚金属(Striga)和列当属(Orobanche)种子的萌发刺激物。TIS108是一种含三唑的化合物,能够降低水稻中部分独脚金内酯的内源水平。尽管经TIS108处理的水稻并未表现出独脚金内酯缺陷突变体所特有的分蘖加速伸长表型,但TIS108处理在盆栽试验中可有效减轻独脚金的侵染。本研究为探究TIS108对水稻基因表达的影响,利用经10 μM TIS108处理或未处理的两周龄水稻根系提取的信使RNA(mRNA)开展了RNA测序(RNA-seq)分析。
