Crassostrea angulata, which is namely called Fujian Oyster in China, is the most economically important cultured oyster speices in southern China. Research on the mechanism for early development on shellfish, such as body plan, shell formation, settlement and metamophosis is currently an active research field. However, related studies were still limited and not deep enough on oyster because of the lack of genomic resources such as genome or transcriptome sequences.

福建牡蛎（Crassostrea angulata）是中国南方最具经济重要性的养殖牡蛎物种。当前，针对贝类早期发育机制（包括躯体模式、贝壳形成、附着变态等）的研究是一个活跃的研究领域。然而，由于缺乏基因组（genome）、转录组（transcriptome）序列等基因组学资源，针对牡蛎的相关研究仍较为有限且深度不足。
