Ground surface temperature measurements and snow observations in Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard (2022-2024)

The dataset contains ground surface temperature measurements and snow observations in Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard. The ground surface temperatures were taken in 4-hour intervals with iButton temperature loggers (Maxim) and cover the time period from September 2022 to August 2024. The snow depth was measured manually with an avalanche probe in April 2023 and April 2024, distinguishing between the thickness of the snowpack and the basal ice layer.
