Continuing on the success of a previous beam time (RB2420440), we would like to extend the range of ions and temperatures based on the results we obtained from the original proposal. By understanding the limitations of the beam time, we will be able to examine further ions with an increased focus on the higher concentration species and how they change as a function of temperature. The results of this will allow us to build on the knowledge of the ions in an aqueous environment and understand more about the existence of water and ice on icy moons with relevance to biological life.
本研究依托先前已取得成功的束流实验(RB2420440),基于原始提案中获取的实验结果,拟拓展所研究离子的种类与温度区间。通过厘清本次束流实验的局限性,我们可进一步探究更多离子物种,重点关注高浓度离子物种及其随温度的变化规律。本实验的研究成果将助力我们深化对水环境中离子行为的认知,并进一步阐释冰质卫星上水与冰的存在形式,这与地外生命存在的可能性息息相关。
