IODP Expedition 354 Magnetic remanence (SRM-longcore)

Magnetic remanence was measured on section halves (and rarely on whole-round sections) using a 2G Enterprises 760R cryogenic magnetometer, first as natural remanent magnetization (NRM) and then after demagnetization steps were performed on the samples by alternating field (AF) demagnetizer coils mounted in-line within the instrument.采用2G Enterprises 760R型低温磁力仪开展磁剩磁测量，测试样品以岩心半切片为主，极少数情况下采用完整圆形岩心切片。整个测试分为两个阶段：首先测定天然剩磁（natural remanent magnetization, NRM）；随后借助内置同轴安装的交变退磁（alternating field, AF）线圈对样品实施分步退磁，之后再次开展剩磁测量。
