Certificate of Occupancy

All applicants for a Basic Business License operating from a commercial location in the District of Columbia must provide a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for the premise address from which the business activity is conducted in order to demonstrate the activity does not conflict with building and zoning codes. A certificate of occupancy is needed to occupy any structure other than a single family dwelling. To include the following uses: two family flat, apartment house, and all commercial uses.凡在哥伦比亚特区（District of Columbia）内的商业经营场所开展经营活动并申请基本商业执照的所有申请人，均需提供其经营场所地址对应的占用证明书（Certificate of Occupancy，简称C of O），以证明其经营活动未违反建筑与分区法规。除单户住宅外，任何建筑的使用均需取得占用证明书，该证明书涵盖以下使用场景：两户式公寓、公寓楼及所有商业用途。
