The Reeds Dataset was created by Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, with the goal of providing a rigorous benchmark platform for robotic perception algorithm research. This dataset adopts a decommissioned 13-meter pilot boat as its data acquisition platform, which is fitted with multiple sensors including six high-performance vision sensors, two long-range LiDARs, a radar, GNSS and an IMU, to capture highly dynamic vessel motion data. The development of the dataset includes thorough sensor calibration and automatic annotation procedures to ensure data quality and usability. The Reeds Dataset is primarily utilized for the development and evaluation of robotic perception algorithms, particularly in domains such as stereo vision, scene flow, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), object classification and tracking, semantic segmentation, and scene and agent prediction.
