NRS-9533 | Files re terminated Australian (colonial) wine licenses

Each file records details surrounding the termination of an Australian wine (Colonial wine) license. All premises received their initial license on 1 January 1922. Licensees voluntarily allowed their license to lapse or were forced to give it up by the Licenses Reduction Board. In the latter case deprivation and compensation court sittings took place. The files also include details of licensees who had run the licensed premises, correspondence between the Board and the licensee or owner, and a summary of liquor purchases and earnings. File number 33 in 14/2596 includes a summary of deprived Australian wine licensed premises for the Sydney and Balmain electorates. The files are separated into two sequences: metropolitan and country. Within the country sequence the arrangement is alphabetical by licensing district.
