In this study we report the detection of therecently described mcr-4 gene in two human isolatesof Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium.The strains were isolated from faecal samplesof two Italian patients with gastroenteritis, collectedin 2016. The identified mcr-4 genes (variantmcr-4.2) differed from the mcr-4 gene originallydescribed in a Salmonella strain of swine origin fromItaly. Salmonella species could represent a hidden reservoirfor mcr genes.

本研究报道了在两株肠炎沙门氏菌鼠伤寒血清型(Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium)人类分离株中检出近期被报道的mcr-4基因(mcr-4 gene)。上述菌株分离自2016年收集的两名意大利胃肠炎患者的粪便样本。本次检出的mcr-4基因为变异型mcr-4.2,与最初从意大利一株猪源沙门氏菌菌株中报道的mcr-4基因存在差异。沙门氏菌属可能是mcr基因的潜在储存库。
