Global Leaf Area Index (LAI) dataset spanning the period from 1981 to 2022. This product covers the entire globe, with a spatial resolution of 5 km (1981–1999) / 500 m (2000–2022) and a temporal resolution of 8 days. Generated based on AVHRR and MODIS observations, the dataset uses overlapping measurements from the two sensors to resolve inversion inconsistencies induced by sensor discrepancies. Additionally, it has undergone rigorous cloud detection and interpolation processing, thereby providing spatio-temporally continuous leaf area index data.
