Patient-Reported Indicators Surveys (PaRIS) Data | MEDomics

About the Dataset Patient-Reported Indicators Surveys (PaRIS) is a combination of PROM (Patient-Reported Outcome Measures) data, which focuses on patient health status, and PREM (Patient-Reported Experience Measures) data, which captures the patient's experience with care. It represents a questionnaire completed by patients to provide a complementary view of healthcare quality, enabling organizations to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and personalize care. Purpose of the Dataset This dataset is provided for the reproduction of the PaRIS DEMO in MEDomics, which demonstrates the prediction of emotional distress using responses from a patient-reported medical questionnaire. Acquiring the Dataset The dataset was derived from the OECD PaRIS (Patient-Reported Indicator Surveys) Public Use Files and was originally extracted by the Marie-Eve Poitras Lab. For the purpose of this proof of concept, the original data underwent additional processing, including the removal of patients with missing target variable (Q_GLOBAL10R in the codebook) and the selection of a subset of variables relevant to the predictive modeling workflow presented in the demonstration. More details can be found in the MEDomics documentation. Data Synthesis Consequently, the dataset provided here does not contain original PaRIS participant records. Instead, it consists of synthetic data generated from a cleaned and curated subset of the original dataset using Synthpop. The synthesis process models the statistical distributions and relationships between variables in the source data to generate artificial records that preserve the overall characteristics of the population while reducing the risk of disclosing information about real participants. The resulting dataset is intended to support the reproduction of the MEDomics proof of concept in a privacy-preserving manner and should not be interpreted as containing data from actual individuals.
