This repository contains the input and output data used in the research article "Irrigation quantification through backscatter data assimilation with a buddy check approach" published in AGU Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems (JAMES) with doi: 10.1029/2023MS003661. The modified NASA-LIS source code can be found under https://github.com/lbusschaert/LISF_buddy_check (branch: irrigation_DETECT). The input, setup, and ouput are provided for the German test site. The GERMANY directory contains: example_lis_config_files with configuration files to run LIS INPUT with all the necessary inputs to run LIS lis_input.NoahMP.Germany.nc, the input file with the parameters for the test site OUTPUT, with netcdf files containing the output of the SURFACEMODEL, the irrigation estimates and the innovations for different experiments. S1_synthetic containing the synthetic backscatter VV observations, produced with the OUTPUT of the nature run For questions or additional input/output files, please contact louise.busschaert@kuleuven.be.
